12.May.2010 Get On the List

It’s a month away today… Saturday, June 12 at Late Bar. The night is filling up quick: are you on the list?

You can purchase tickets directly from MODchicago for Saturday’s event – simply click “Purchase Tickets” and you’re ready to go! We have a PayPal account ready for your order… and don’t worry, if you don’t have an account, you can still buy with a credit card. You’ll receive an automatic confirmation email, with a link to download your “ticket” if you’d like, and your name will be added to the door list for Saturday night’s event. Think of it as MODchicago will call. Bring your ID – you’ll need it to get in the venue anyway – and you’re all set!

12.Apr.2010 Oh Vanity! “The Second Coming”

MODchicago enthusiastically endorses the second installment of Oh Vanity! as the official weekender pre-party place to be. Head to Late Bar on Wednesday, June 9, where you’ll hear the likes of the Charlatans, Northside, Stone Roses, Blur, Pulp, Doves, Happy Mondays, etc. spun by WCSC’s Kevin Jones with special guest (and weekender DJ) Dave Monroe. THIS IS A DANCE NIGHT, so do take note. We aren’t here to sit around and sip our beers, come prepared to cut a rug. Or at least twirl around in your baggy flares… cos this night, it’s gotta be a loose fit.

So if you find yourself in town on Wednesday and care to start the party a little early with a bit of Madchester, come on out – plus it’s free!

29.Mar.2010 Full DJ Line Up Announced

The new flyer is in production, but click over to Weekender DJ Line Up now and see when and where your favorites are playing!

Don’t forget, you can get advance tickets this year for Saturday night’s event at Late Bar. We recommend it – it’s an intimate venue, and purchasing tickets will let you line jump to the head of the class for quickest admission!

22.Mar.2010 Event to Honor Dan Parry

Come out and dance, drink, and have fun as the Dan Parry Memorial Scholarship Fund kicks off its inaugural event at The Globe Pub. The scholarship fund is still in its infancy, but organizers hope to raise money to offer scholarships to aspiring Chicago-area EMTs, Paramedics, and Firefighters. Dan was an EMT and he wanted to become a Paramedic, but he couldn’t afford to go through the training while earning a living. We want to help others that find themselves in that situation.

So come to the party! There will be DJs, featuring the best of In The Spirit with MODChicago Eric, Ben, and JJ, plus a silent auction, food, and lots of people who loved Dan! The event opens at 8pm and runs till close at 2am. RSVP on facebook.
