Darkroom Tickets Now Available

For those that believe in preparation, you can now buy tickets for Friday’s event at Darkroom online. These are available directly from the venue – click here to purchase. Tickets are $10.

Friday Night’s line-up includes the incredible Rena La Reine from LA, Derek See of the fantastic Derek’s Daily 45, MODchicago favorite Midnite Cowbwoy, and all the way from Stockholm, Jodie Artichoke. Plus a rare performance from MODchicago’s own Irving Parkas, playing a live set of Mod & Freakbeat favs.

We raided the archives and came back with every Our Way Of Thinking flyer we could find… plus some bonus swag from OWOT1 – anyone have the 3 pin set or t-shirts?!

We’ve confirmed another DJ for you: Jackie Hoodoo of LA’s Blackeyed Soul Club
(by way of the New Untouchables), who will be bringing some of the best international garage and psych sounds.

We’ve also been working on offering presale tickets for the first time. Watch your favorite social media for an announcement. Flyers should be available soon too!

We’ve missed you. And apparently, you missed us. MODchicago is back for 2010 with The Simple Headphone Mind, the 8th Our Way of Thinking weekender, June 10, 11, and 12.

The DJ line-up is, you guessed it, our best yet. We pride ourselves on bringing DJs to Chicago that aren’t often near these parts, giving you a premier opportunity to check out what’s happening in scenes across the States and in Europe. The MODchicago sound covers fuzzed out mod and garage rockers, street level rnb, northern pounders, psych explorations, and dancefloor favorites.

We have two new venues for 2010 as well. The Liars Club has been a local favorite for years, and we’re happy to open up Thursday night here. Two floors, great loud sound, cozy dancefloor, and super staff. We’ll be back for the record swap too. Saturday night we’ll be at the Late Bar, Chicago’s newest 5am venue. That’s right, we’ll go till 5. Owners Dave & Kristine continue to support the scene with DJs of all stripes getting a chance to spin at Late Bar.
